Professional Scenic Art Seminars for Colleges and Universities

Are you looking to expand your scenic art program at your college, university, or school?

Tuxedo Junction Fine Art offers two fast paced, hands-on, immersive (and fun!) seminars that challenge students to experience what it’s like to work in a professional scenic studio and on a feature film location.

Painting for Film and Television: This seminar covers the scenic artist’s role in working in the film and television. Topics covered are the job market, safety, materials, tools, the working environment and preparing each student to work in the film industry. Students participate in painting styles and techniques including: aging, wood grain, wallpapering, temporary painting, texturing, marbling, ChromaKey, and much more. With each project, Donna shows samples from the many films and TV shows she has worked on. The seminar length is 40 hours and it can be adjusted to fit your time frame and budget.

All About Foam: This seminar covers the usage of nine foams that are commonly used in scenic studios. Topics covered are the job market, safety, materials, tools, working with each foam and preparing to work in the themed environment industry. Students participate in sculpting and working with each foam. Lots of information and projects to take home. The seminar length is 40 hours and it can be adjusted to fit your time frame and budget.
